Books, Movies & Speeches to practise MINDFULNESS

Those who follow me on Instagram, might have noticed that I am practising meditation and mindfulness. If you not familiar what it means, here are the definitions.

Mindfulness is a state of active, open attention on the present. When we are mindful, we carefully observe our thoughts and feelings without judging them as good or bad. It means living in the moment and awakening to our current experience, rather than dwelling on the past or anticipating the future.

Meditation is a means of transforming the mind. Buddhist meditation practices are techniques that encourage and develop concentration, clarity, emotional positivity, and a calm seeing of the true nature of things. By engaging with a particular meditation practice you learn the patterns and habits of your mind, and the practice offers a means to cultivate new, more positive ways of being. With regular work and patience these nourishing, focused states of mind can deepen into profoundly peaceful and energised states of mind. Such experiences can have a transformative effect and can lead to a new understanding of life.

I am self learner and it is just a beginning of this exciting journey of deeper understanding. Thanks to the internet and various sources of information available, everyday I am becoming more and more aware of myself, people around me and the environment I am living in. I want to share in this blog post my recommendations of books, movies, documentaries & speeches which would be worth your time. I will be constantly updating this list. Read, listen, watch & drop me a message if you would like to discuss it or have another recommendation to me!

Thank you for being awesome, enjoy!
